About Us

Ellen L. Stock, Owner

When a lawyer hires me, it’s important to me that they know they’re going to get a good transcript every single time.  I love being a court reporter, and since my parents instilled in me the importance of a strong work ethic, I always strive to do the best job I can, no matter what the endeavor.

I’ve been a court reporter in the Kansas City metropolitan area for over 30 years.  After graduating from Westport High School, I attended Kansas City Business College and went on to work for Bi-State Reporters.  Soon thereafter, Bi-State became Jay E. Suddreth & Associates, where I worked for most of my career — with the occasional hiatus for maternity leave.

In 2013 I branched out and started working for myself under the name Stock Court Reporting.  Working independently certainly comes with its own unique demands, but I’ve found that when you don’t cut corners and you work hard to get the job done right, there’s plenty of work available.

Some fun facts about me: in my teens and early 20’s, I danced and sang on stage in Loose Park with Theater Under the Stars.  My favorite musicals are ones with the most dance numbers, like West Side Story and George M!  Recently, I enrolled several of my family members and friends into the idea of surprising my daughter and her new husband with a flash mob-style dance at their wedding reception in 2011.

If clean transcripts, attention to details and reliability are important qualities in the court reporter you hire, I would love to work with you.  Email me at [email protected] or schedule online.
